Building a Sacagawea & Native American Dollar Collection
Sacagawea & Native American Dollar Key Dates & Varieties
Every U.S. coin series includes certain issues or varieties whose rarity or limited mintages make them the "keys" to assembling a complete date and mint mark collection. Additionally, many series include prominent varieties that, while not Key Dates, are popular among collectors. Below is a list of Key Dates and varieties for Sacagawea dollars and Native American dollars. Check here to see if they are available.

2000-P

- Cheerios – The result of a promotional arrangement with General Mills Corp., maker of the breakfast cereal, the eagle’s tail feathers on 5,500 coins were boldly detailed.
- Goodacre Finish – The Mint struck 5,000 coins just for designer Glenna Goodacre, who requested her $5,000 commission be paid in Sacagawea dollars from the first year of issue. These coins were struck on burnished planchets using highly-polished dies that gave the coins a Prooflike surface. They were slabbed and certified, but not graded, by the Independent Coin Grading Company (ICG). In 2010, a dealer purchased the remaining 2,000 coins and had them graded by PCGS and put into PCGS holders.
2005-2008 P&D
In addition to traditional circulation-grade issues, from 2005-2008 the Philadelphia and Denver Mints produced Sacagawea dollars with special satin, or matte, finishes. These coins were included in special Uncirculated Mint Sets and were not issued for circulation.
