Ed Reiter

Described as a "one-man institution in coin writing for over half a century," Ed Reiter (1938-2017) wrote Collector's Corner articles exclusively for Littleton Coin Company for more than a decade.

He served as the senior editor of COINage magazine for 32 years and executive director of the Numismatic Literary Guild for 27. Reiter wrote the weekly Numismatics column in the Sunday New York Times for nearly a decade, and authored a book entitled The New York Times Guide to Coin Collecting. He formerly served as editor of Numismatic News.

All told, Mr. Reiter's articles earned 61 honors – including winning the NLG's Best Web Site Article award for three of his Collector's Corner articles. He continued to write for Littleton until he passed away on August 24, 2017.

The Collector’s Corner column "Peace Dollar Model Had Special Claim to Fame" was named "Best Web Site Article" by the Numismatic Literary Association.
