Struck in 2.5 grams of 99.9% pure silver, the half dollar bar shows the iconic Colosseum built during the first century A.D. The amphitheatre held over 50,000 spectators and hosted gladiator fights, contests between men and animals and even mock naval engagements for which the arena was flooded. Though damaged by earthquakes and lightning during medieval times, and more severely by vandalism, the Colosseum is partially restored and is visited by millions of tourists each year.
Limited in mintage to 10,000 pieces per design, each silver coin bar comes in a clear holder with a story card and certificate of authenticity.
