Issued by the Bank of Madagascar and of the Comoros for islands located off Africa’s east coast, the front shows the queen’s palace in Tananariva, Madagascar. Destroyed by a 1995 fire, it has been rebuilt. The back promotes Comoros’s chief export, agricultural products.
