These historic copper coins feature King George III, ruler of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. They were struck after the monarch lost the American colonies in their War for Independence, but before the crown tried to reclaim them with the War of 1812. George was the third king from the House of Hanover and the first one born in England. He ruled from 1760 to 1820 and his decision to extract greater taxes from the colonists led to the rallying cry “Taxation without representation is tyranny.”

Each obverse depicts the king in profile. The reverse on the 1806-1807 farthing and half penny show Britannia while the reverse on the 1805 Irish half penny features a harp and the word hibernia. This set comes with a presentation case, colorful story card and certificate of authenticity. World currency collectors and history fans will enjoy adding these very early 19th century coins to their collection. Don’t delay – order today!
