Now add the fascinating 20 Baht note of 1939-41 from the Kingdom of Thailand to your collection. Engraved by the legendary British bank note and stamp printers Thomas de la Rue Limited, this became Thailand's last bank note series issued before the Japanese invasion of 1941 and the first 20 Baht with this design. Displaying intricate scrollwork with the country's national symbol at the top (center), the note shows Rama VIII as a young boy, and the back displays the old parliament building, Ananda Samakhom Throne Hall, in Bangkok.
After WWII, King Rama VIII returned to Thailand in December 1945. But just months later, in June 1946, the young king was found in his bed dead from a gunshot wound.
