Struck in the Roman colony of Judaea during the prefectures of Coponius and Marcus Ambibulus, this bronze coin circulated when Jesus was a youth. Little is known about his early life. It is probable that at this time, Jesus would have been living in Nazareth, and had begun his apprenticeship as a carpenter with Joseph. A palm tree, symbol of Judaea and abundance, is shown on one side of this coin.
