Delmatius was a favorite nephew of Constantine the Great. He was made Caesar by his uncle and given part of the Empire to rule, including the area that is now Greece and Bulgaria. But when Constantine the Great died, his sons viewed Delmatius as a threat to their claim on the Empire. The sons of Constantine the Great killed Delmatius, along with other male relatives, to eliminate any claim to the throne.
