Customer Reviews
After Licinius I deposed Constantine the Great, he named his Master of Offices, Martinian, co-emperor. In July of 324, Martinian was ordered to stop Constantine from entering Asia, but he failed. After Licinius and Martinian surrendered, Constantine promised to let them live in exchange for an abdication. However, in the spring of the following year, Constantine went back on his word and killed them both.
