Customer Reviews

Julia Soaemias was the wife of a Senator and mother of Elagabalus. She convinced the legions in the east to fight against Emperor Macrinus in order to make her son emperor. Her son, Elagabalus, ruled from A.D. 218-222. Once in Rome, because of her ambitiousness, proud manner and cruelty, she made herself hated by the populace. She was murdered at the same time as her son in A.D. 222.
