Customer Reviews
Herod the Great`s eldest son, Herod Archelaus was appointed ethnarch (ruler) over Judaea and other territories. But his treatment of the Jews and Samaritans was so brutal that both groups sent representatives to the emperor to complain about him. Augustus deposed him, confiscated his treasure and placed Judaea under a procurator or prefect.
