In April 1981, a milestone in space exploration was achieved with the launch of the space shuttle Columbia. This was the world’s first reusable spacecraft, with an orbiter that could take off like a rocket and land like an airplane. It was launched by two solid rocket boosters and an external fuel tank, with the entire bundle (including the shuttle) known as the Space Transportation System (or STS). Now, celebrate this monumental achievement with Ghana’s 2 Cedis Uncirculated coin that marks the 40th anniversary of the Space Shuttle Program.

This handsome bi-colored titanium coin features a full-color image of Columbia – just before launch – on the reverse. Queen Elizabeth II is on the obverse. Each Uncirculated titanium coin comes presented in a display box with a certificate of authenticity. With a strictly limited mintage of just 5,000 pieces worldwide, you’ll want to get yours right away – our supply is very limited.
