This historic commemorative silver dollar was struck in 2011 for the 150th anniversary of the highest Armed Forces award for valor in action. First bestowed in 1861 during the Civil War, the Medal of Honor is awarded by the president to those who go above and beyond the call of duty. While most Medal of Honor silver dollars issued in 2011 are Proofs, less than 30% are the low-mintage Uncirculated coins available here! The obverse features the Army, Navy and Air Force Medals of Honor (Marine Corps and Coast Guard personnel are eligible for the Navy medal). The reverse depicts an infantryman carrying a wounded soldier to safety. Order this elusive 90% silver commemorative while supplies last.
