1963 $1 Federal Reserve Star Note - Kansas City

The Series 1963 $1 bill was first to feature the revised obligation, this note is legal tender for all debts, public and private. When a note is damaged during manufacture, it is replaced by one with a star beside the serial number. These Star Notes are much scarcer than regular issues.
