These war-time half pennies from Great Britain minted 1938-1948 are colorized on the obverse with these historic victory scenes from 1945: “The Kiss” in Times Square on V-J Day; Utrecht, Netherlands citizens cheering the Royal Canadian Army which liberated them; Prime Minister Winston Churchill, President Harry S. Truman, and Premier Josef Stalin at the Potsdam Conference in Germany; the Stars and Stripes’ headline proclaiming Nazi surrender and Allied victory; U.S. Army Lt. William Robertson and Red Army Lt. Alexander Silvashko at their symbolic meeting on the Elbe River in Torgau, Germany; the raising of the Soviet flag on the Reichstag building in Berlin, plus a bouquet of carnations for bravery, freedom, admiration and remembrance!

Issued during the reign of King George VI, the common reverse shows war-time mintage dates. Each coin is encapsulated and nestled in a black presentation box. The seven-coin set comes with a certificate of authenticity, plus a story card. Makes a great gift for a history buff!
