  • Lincoln Steel Cent – Reprocessed – Issued one year only! Copper was needed for war efforts, so 1943 cents were struck in zinc-coated steel, creating silver-colored coins.
  • 1944 Jefferson Wartime Nickel – Struck in 35% silver from 1942-1945. The U.S. Mint stopped using nickel for 5¢ coins to conserve it for war efforts.
