1923 Mercury Dime

Struck in 90% silver at the Philadelphia Mint, the 1923 Mercury dime features one of America`s best-loved coinage designs. While the obverse depicts Liberty wearing a winged cap, the coin soon became known as the Mercury dime due to the similarity of the cap seen on the mythological male god, Mercury. Liberty was given a winged cap by the coin`s designer, A. A. Weinman, to symbolize liberty of thought. Get this early 20th century favorite today.
