1918 Illinois Centennial Silver Half Dollar

This popular 90% silver 1918 half dollar honored the 100th anniversary of Illinois statehood and was the first U.S. commemorative struck for this type of celebration. The obverse depicts Abe Lincoln as a young Illinois lawyer and legislator, while the reverse is based on the Illinois state seal.
