Customer Reviews
The early 20th-century 1911 Barber half dollar was struck in 90% silver at the main U.S. Mint in Philadelphia, the birthplace of America`s coinage, where U.S. coin production dates back to 1793. Barber half dollars are named for their designer, Charles E. Barber, and feature the profile of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap. The word liberty is found on a small band, or ribbon, above her forehead. The reverse is an adaptation of the Great Seal of the United States.
