More than 90 years ago during the Great Depression, hundreds of American collectors were forced to give up gold coins and Gold Certificates like these – the Gold Recall Order of 1933 made them illegal to own. Fortunately, not everyone complied, and when gold restrictions were lifted, these handsome and historic examples had survived.
Even after more than 110 years, the gold coin is still in lustrous Uncirculated condition, while the note is graded Choice Extremely Fine. The coin comes in a protective holder and is presented in a display box, while the note is certified by PMG.
