Customer Reviews
The venerable second San Francisco Mint managed to produce over 1.7 million Barber half dollars in 1906, despite the devastating earthquake and fire that struck the entire Bay area in April of 1906. The granite mint structure in downtown San Francisco survived to become a relief center as well as banking center as the city struggled to rebound from the destruction. The 1906-S Barber half dollar, minted in 90% fine silver, is a precious remembrance of San Francisco`s will and determination to survive.
