This rare remainder bank note was prepared for circulation by the Banco de Sonora during the dictatorship of General Porfirio Diaz of Mexico.
- Five-year-old Hortensia Corral, daughter of the bank's main shareholder Ramón Corral, Sonora's governor and also Mexico's vice president is profiled on the left
- At right is Minerva, Roman goddess of wisdom engraved by Charles Burt, best known for his portrait of Abraham Lincoln printed on the U.S. $5 note from 1914 to 2000
- Back features an elaborate anti-counterfeiting design
- This 5 Pesos note was never officially issued; in 1911 Diaz was overthrown
