Customer Reviews
The 1887-S Liberty Head $10 gold pieces (or eagles) were struck at the San Francisco Mint, which opened in 1854 to serve the coinage needs of the rapidly growing West Coast population. Designed by Christian Gobrecht, Liberty Head eagles featured a popular, classic motif and were issued from 1838 to 1907. During 1887, Thomas Edison built the first motor-driven phonograph and Arthur Conan Doyle published his first Sherlock Holmes mystery novel.
