The 1881-O Morgan silver dollar was struck over 125 years ago at the historic New Orleans Mint. This southern facility produced U.S. coins from 1838 until 1861 - when it was taken over by the state of Louisiana and then by the Confederacy. The New Orleans Mint resumed U.S. coin production from 1879 to 1909, when it closed for good. The 1881-O Morgan silver dollar will be an appealing addition to your collection!
