Customer Reviews
The Liberty Seated design was seen on U.S. half dollars for over 50 years from 1839 to 1891. This famous motif, created by Christian Gobrecht, was also placed on half dimes, dimes, quarters and silver dollars of the 19th century. The obverse of the coins depicts Liberty seated on a rock, while the reverse depicts a heraldic eagle. The 1878 half dollar was struck in 90% silver over 125 years ago at the San Francisco Mint.
