Thanks to our buyers’ efforts to accumulate this nice Mint State group, I’m pleased to offer you the opportunity to own a prized, first-year 1878 Morgan silver dollar from the historic Carson City Mint. Struck more than 145 years ago, they possess unique collector appeal because they’re among the few Morgans with the “CC” mint mark!

All 1878 Morgans are desirable because they’re first-year coins, but the “CC” issues are especially sought. Owning a “CC” dollar is like claiming a share of the Comstock Lode – it’s the silver that made some men rich and drove others mad. These hefty coins recall the Wild West, rowdy saloons and legendary outlaws. The frontier mint in Nevada struck these silver beauties for just 13 years, yet produced only 2% of all Morgans ever minted!

After the Carson City Mint closed in 1893, hundreds of bags of the 1878-CC silver dollars were stored at the U.S. Treasury. Then, from the late 1930s to 1962, they were released. Thanks to collectors who put these aside, you can now own a lustrous 1878-CC Morgan dollar. We’re including a FREE reproduction of an old-time photo (suitable for framing) that shows bars of silver from the Comstock Lode, ready for shipment to the mints.

Each magnificent Morgan has been graded Choice Uncirculated by our experts and certified by PCGS. So, if you’re missing this hard-to-find, first-year coin from Carson City, get yours today!
