This genuine 1872 Liberty Seated silver dollar is sure to be prized by any collector! Struck more than a century ago by the Philadelphia Mint, this 90% silver classic was designed by Christian Gobrecht. Its obverse features Liberty seated on a rock, framed by 13 stars. Her right hand holds a shield, while her left holds a pole topped with a liberty cap. The reverse depicts an eagle perched on an olive branch and holding three arrows. Above the eagle is a banner with the motto in god we trust, which was added in 1866.
In 1872, U.S. president Ulysses S. Grant easily won his bid for reelection even as Susan B. Anthony was arrested for casting her vote. During the same year, future president Calvin Coolidge was born. Recall these historic events with this Liberty Seated silver dollar!
