Act now to own this genuine 1868 Liberty Seated silver dollar! Designed by Christian Gobrecht, this 90% silver coin was struck by the Philadelphia Mint. The obverse features Liberty seated on a rock, framed by 13 stars. She holds a shield with her right hand and a pole with a liberty cap in her left. The reverse depicts an eagle perched on an olive branch and holding three arrows. Above the eagle is a banner with the motto in god we trust, which was added in 1866.
The year 1868 witnessed the first impeachment of a U.S. president, when the House of Representatives impeached Andrew Johnson.
