Customer Reviews
Due to widespread hoarding of coins during the Civil War era, Congress authorized the printing of fractional currency notes (with values less than a dollar) from 1862-1876. This historic 10¢ note is from the 1864-1869 Third Issue of fractional currency. The green face of the note depicts George Washington, while the green back carries the statement of obligation to accept as U.S. currency. This authentic souvenir from the Civil War is in great demand among collectors.
