Own a seldom-seen 1863 Southern State $1 Note printed in Alabama to help finance the Confederacy during the Civil War. Circulating nearly 160 years ago, the front features Governor John G. Shorter at left, the State Capitol in center, and a map of Alabama beneath tree branches at lower right. Hand numbered at the top, the uniface note is also hand signed by Shorter, a landowner and lawyer who served just one term. In Series 1, the large word ONE is inked in green; in Series 2, in blue. Series our choice. With limited availability, don’t wait to place your order and add this historic note to your collection.
