1808 Draped Bust Half Cent, Normal Date

The 1808 half cent was the final year for the Draped Bust design, which depicts Liberty with flowing hair and a ribbon, and a plunging neckline covered with drapery. The 1808 coin features either a "normal date" or an "8" punched over a "7". However, on Normal Date coins, the second "8" is larger than the other numbers (the final digit was hand punched onto dies prepared with "180" for use in various years).
