Here's the scarce Double Centenionalis, featuring Decentius, the rebel ruler who's missing from most collections. This handsome bronze is thought to have been struck about A.D. 352, after the Battle of Mursa, where the rebels were defeated. Decentius is on the obverse and the Chi Rho is on the reverse. Many experts believe this reverse was used to rally Orthodox Christians against Constantius II, who held Arian views (Christ is not equal to God).
