Customer Reviews
This bronze sestertius was struck under Emperor Maximinus I Thrax to honor his son Maximus, who became Caesar at the age of 20. Although he was capable of being a good leader, he chose to abandon his responsibilities. Because of his insolence and pride, Roman citizens and the army despised him. In June of A.D. 238, he was assassinated along with his father by the soldiers of Legion II.
