This 1976 $2 Federal Reserve Note paid tribute to America’s Bicentennial celebrated that year – featuring the famous painting Declaration of Independence on the back. The Postal Service hand-canceled 13¢ stamps on a limited number of the new $2 notes on their first day of issue (April 13, 1976), creating the first U.S. stamp and currency combination.
