The 1915 Indian Head $10 gold pieces were designed by the renowned sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens, who also designed the $20 U.S. gold pieces of 1907-1933. The $10 coin, also known as an eagle, depicts Liberty wearing a spectacular Indian headdress (which is inscribed liberty along the band).
