When introduced in 1907, the Indian Head $10 gold piece, or eagle, did not bear the motto in god we trust (it was objected to by President Theodore Roosevelt). But a special act of Congress restored the motto to the coin partway through 1908. This second-year-of-issue 1908 $10 gold piece with the motto is an essential coin for any complete $10 Indian Head collection. Also an excellent choice if you`re looking to acquire just one piece from this beautiful series!
