Thanks to a special purchase, you can add a scarce $5 Liberty Head Half Eagle to your collection. As a scarcer Type 1 issue of 1857, this pre-Civil War Eagle does not feature in god we trust on the reverse. These pieces were struck at the Philadelphia Mint in 1857 with an image of Liberty, proudly wearing a coronet. While gracing the reverse is an image of the mighty bald eagle clutching an olive branch and arrows.

After nearly 170 years, it’s difficult to find these earlier pieces. Many of these 90% gold coins circulated heavily in the West when issued. Plus, when gold coinage came to an end with the 1933 Gold Recall Order, even more were melted, never to be seen again. Each 1857 gold piece has been hand selected for quality by our buyer’s, and some are certified by PCGS. Our supply is strictly limited – don’t miss out!
