The 1834 Capped Bust half dollar was struck in 89.24% silver at the Philadelphia Mint, birthplace of America`s coinage. Designed by John Reich, this historic silver series depicts Liberty surrounded by 13 stars signifying the original colonies. The reverse bears an eagle with a shield. The eagle is perched on an olive branch, grasping three arrows in its talons. The motto liberty is seen on a banner above the eagle.
