The 1834 Capped Bust half dollar was struck in 89.24% silver at the Philadelphia Mint, birthplace of America's coinage. Designed by John Reich, this historic silver series depicts Liberty surrounded by 13 stars signifying the original colonies. The reverse bears an eagle with a shield. The eagle is perched on an olive branch, grasping three arrows in its talons. The motto liberty is seen on a banner above the eagle.
