1857-O Liberty Seated Quarter

Struck at the New Orleans Mint just a few years before the Civil War, the 1857-O Liberty Seated quarter is a precious keepsake from an earlier era in America. Designed by Christian Gobrecht, and minted in 90% silver, this coin`s obverse motif of a seated Liberty is also seen on half dimes, dimes, half dollars and silver dollars of the era. The reverse designs vary, with the Liberty Seated quarter featuring an eagle with a shield.
