1834 Capped Bust Half Dollar, Large Date & Letters XF#2

Several varieties of the 1834 Capped Bust half dollar exist, due to varying sizes of the numerals and lettering on the coin. At the time, these were applied with hand punches which were not consistent in their construction. The coin offered here is the Large Date & Letters variety, on which both the numbers in the 1834 date and the letters in the legend united states of America are larger than other Capped Bust half dollars of 1834.
