<p>The 1832 Capped Bust half dollar is a precious keepsake from the early years of the nation. Struck in 89.24% silver at the Philadelphia Mint, this 50&cent; piece bears the profile of Liberty wearing a cap inscribed liberty. She is surrounded by 13 stars, and the date is below. The reverse of the coin features an eagle with an American shield on its breast. The eagle is perched on an olive branch and clutching three arrows. The denomination is inscribed as <span class="motto">liberty</span> below the eagle.</p>
