Customer Reviews

Thanks to an opportunity purchase, we’re able to offer you the last two classic commemorative half dollars struck in 90% silver – each in lustrous Uncirculated condition. One pays tribute to Booker T. Washington, who founded the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama as the first institution of higher learning for black Americans. The reverse has the legend: from slave cabin to hall of fame. The other half dollar profiles Washington and botanist George Washington Carver, whose groundbreaking research at Tuskegee uncovered the ability of sweet potatoes, peanuts and soybeans to replace lost nutrients; its reverse depicts a simple map of the U.S.A. In 1982, the mint launched the modern commemorative coin program, and our supply of these 70-year-old silver classics is limited. Buy both and SAVE!
