The 90% silver 1944-D Mercury dime is a precious memento of World War II America, when both military personnel and the home front work force exhibited superb dedication and courage. American bombers, produced at a remarkable rate, pummeled manufacturing and stronghold targets in Europe. Then on June 6, 1944, the massive D Day invasion of Normandy was launched. In the Pacific, General MacArthur was successfully driving through the islands, though casualties were high.
