Tetricus II (Caius Pius Esuvius Tetricus) was the son of Tetricus I, who succeeded Marius and Postumus as the rebel leader of the Gallic Empire, which proclaimed independence from Rome. Tetricus II was given the rank of Caesar when Tetricus I became emperor. When his father surrendered the throne and army to the Roman emperor Aurelian in A.D. 273, Tetricus II, like his father, was treated benevolently. He was given a seat in the Roman Senate.
