1876 Liberty Seated Half Dollar
$171.00
1876 Philadelphia Mint
Description
The 1876 Liberty Seated half dollar was struck in 90% silver at the main U.S. Mint in Philadelphia. During its year of mintage, such events as the Battle of the Little Big Horn took place. This was one of only a few victories for American Indians over "the white man," as Sioux Chief Sitting Bull routed and killed General George Custer and his 264-man army. Also in 1876, Alexander Graham Bell patented the telephone he had invented a year earlier.
