Get this 2020 set honoring the Pawnee Nation in the popular Native American series. Headquartered in Pawnee, Oklahoma, the Pawnee historically lived in farmland villages near the Loup, Republican and South Platte rivers. Their economic activities alternated between farming crops and hunting buffalo. The Pawnee people numbered over 60,000 during the early 18th century. The common reverse is inspired by the Pawneee Nation logo – a wolf and two axes:

  • 1¢ Ornamental Hair Comb – comprised of German silver
  • 5¢ Buffalo – bison were a major source of food for the Pawnee
  • 10¢ Tribesman Hunting Buffalo – from a prominent oil painting
  • 25¢ Pronghorn – another main food source similar to an antelope
  • 50¢ Warrior – a Pawnee warrior with ceremonial trappings
  • $1 Pawnee Chief – Charles Bird King or Petalesharro (Generous Chief)

Recognized as a sovereign nation by the U.S. government, the Jamul Nation is legally authorized to issue commemorative coins, including this 6-coin set honoring the Pawnee Tribe. Limited in mintage to 25,000, the set comes in an illustrated display card with a certificate of authenticity. Order today!
