1889-S Morgan Silver Dollar

Only 700,000 Morgan dollars were produced at the San Francisco Mint in 1889. This may be why the 1889-S silver dollars that remain in existence usually exhibit a strong strike and excellent luster. This 1889 issue is a historical reminder of the year in which Singer Company introduced its first electric sewing machine, Otis Company installed its first electric elevator, and the first coin-operated telephone went into operation!
