Sought after for their scarcity, beauty and age, classic Barber quarters were struck in 90% silver from 1892-1916. Each displays designer Charles Barber’s classic obverse design featuring Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap and laurel wreath, while a heraldic eagle adorns the reverse. Barber quarters were minted in much smaller numbers than today’s coinage, and with loss through attrition and silver melts over more than a century, no one knows how many exist today.
