The second Indian Head cent struck in bronze, this variety was produced late in 1864 when the initial "L" (for coin designer James B. Longacre) was added to the lower ribbon behind Liberty's neck. Obverse depicts Liberty in a Native American headdress. A pointed bust recalls the first two issues in the series. Reverse of coin features oak wreath and shield. An important addition to your Indian Head cent collection!
