• Fifth issue of 2024 and 15th in series
• Her 1895 high school graduation speech was a call to recognize women as equals
• Zitkala-Ša's lobbying efforts for full American citizenship for Native Americans helped get the Citizenship Act of 1924 passed
• She co-founded the National Council of American Indians to advocate for better education opportunities and health care, among other initiatives
• Zitkala-Ša wrote Old Indian Legends, American Indian Stories, Dreams and Thunder, and the narrative for The Sun Dance Opera, a first for Native Americans
• Reverse features Zitkala-Ša in traditional Yankton Sioux dress, holding a book to symbolize her published works, including her successful activism for Native American rights
• Designed by Don Everhart of the U.S. Mint's Artistic Infusion Program and sculpted by Medallic Artist Renata Gordon
• Obverse depicts George Washington as originally designed and sculpted by Laura Gardin Fraser to commemorate his 200th birthday for a 1932 quarter
